This recipe is one I came across on Pinterest from the blog, Let’s Dish. It sounded simple and delicious so even though my son can’t take anything with nuts to daycare, I decided to try it as an at-home snack. I’m sure the neighbours won’t mind helping if it turns out too much for the two of us. Hope you enjoy them too!
Reese’s Peanut Butter Bars
1 cup butter melted
2 cups graham cracker crumbs (I used the food processor to make a fine meal of the graham crackers)
2 cups confectioners’ sugar
1 cup + 4 tablespoons peanut butter
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
In a medium bowl, mix together the melted butter, graham cracker crumbs, confectioners’ sugar, and 1 cup peanut butter until well blended. Press evenly into the bottom of an ungreased 9×13 inch pan. In a metal bowl over simmering water (to create a double boiler), or in the microwave, melt the chocolate chips with the remaining 4 tablespoons of peanut butter, stirring occasionally until smooth. Spread over the peanut butter layer. Refrigerate for at least one hour before cutting into squares.
Hmmm… must try these. I just saw I had some graham cracker crumbs in my pantry that should probably get eaten sooner rather than later. 🙂
Just dropped by with a couple for you guys to try, but got no answer…I’ll bring them over tomorrow.
haha – they call those scuba bars here at Pirate’s Point
These look great! Gotta try. I love peanut butter cups and these look like they would satisfy the craving. Thanks.
love to see the use of good Canadian Skippy PB!! 🙂
Wow these look amazing!
I wanted to give you a heads up…someone stole your recipe word for word along with the picture and posted it to their blog as if it was her own. She didn’t give you credit for it either. You can see it here: http://farerecipes.blogspot.com/2013/12/reeses-peanut-butter-bars.html
[…] I also made these AMAZING peanut butter bars. Man oh man! We were all “Mmmmmm-mmm-mm” and “Oh these are so GOOD!” while we ate them. (If you have a peanut allergy, try subbing your favorite peanut butter sub.) I will make these again! They do have a lot of powdered sugar, so this isn’t an every day treat. Still, this recipe also inspired me. […]
Is it just the 4 Tbs of peanut butter that you mix with the choc chips?
Yes Terri – I’ve adjusted the directions now to make that more clear. I hope that you enjoy them!
Thank you, hopefully will be trying them soon, for next church event.
I made these the other day, they were a huge hit!! Fantastic!!
